Scaling Coder for Social Impact

  1. Ruma mengembangkan sistem bisnis berbasis teknologi untuk menghubungkan para pengusaha mikro dengan perusahaan-perusahaan besar
  2. Teknologi yang dikembangkan berbasis Android, dengan bahasa pemrograman Python dan dengan Scrum sebagai metode pengembangannya.
  3. Apps yang dikembangkan dibuat dengan tampilan sederhana sesuai demografi pendidikan penggunanya tetapi harus mampu melayani transaksi hingga 25 ribu per hari

TechTalk ini akan menjelaskan ketiga hal tersebut, tantangan yang Ruma hadapi dalam proses pengerjaanya, cara Ruma dalam menjaga kecepatan proses produksi (team management), serta bagaimana impact yang muncul dari apps yang dibuat ini.

Tentang pembicara :
Aldi Haryopratomo is the CEO and co-founder of Ruma, a social enterprise that recruits and trains thousands of low-income entrepreneurs, who majority are small shops, to provide services – prepaid airtime, electricity payments, and mobile banking services, to their communities through a phone or android device. After winning numerous awards such as Harvard’s Social Enterprise Competition, Ruma’ has managed to obtain investment from top Silicon Valley firms like Grameen Foundation, Omidyar Network and Unitus Impact Fund. Since Aldi joined Ruma full time, it has served over 1.5 million customers through a network of over 10000 micro-entrepreneurs. Prior to Ruma Aldi worked at Boston Consulting Group (BCG) and was an early employee at Kiva.org, a San Francisco based non-profit organization, and the UNDP an advisor to the Tsunami Reconstruction and Rehabilitation Body. He holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and was elected as a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum in 2012.
